Da Nang leaders visit Consulate General of Viet Nam in Pakse City, Laos
Within the framework of their ongoing visit to Laos, a high-ranking delegation of Da Nang, led by municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Tuesday, visited the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Pakse City, Laos’ Champasak Province, and the Vietnamese business community in the province.

During his reception for Da Nang visitors, Consul General of Viet Nam in Pakse Nguyen Van Trung said that over the past time, his agency has made great efforts to protect Vietnamese citizens, supporting Vietnamese businesses, as well as maintain and promote friendship relations between localities of Viet Nam with south-central provinces of Laos.
Mr. Trung said that more than 15,000 Vietnamese people are living in Laotian south-central provinces, over 4,000 of them are in Champasak Province.
Meanwhile, 115 Vietnamese businesses are operating effectively in these Lao provinces, thereby contributing to driving the economic development and social security there.
The Vietnamese community in Laos abides by local laws and actively preserves traditional culture and the Vietnamese language.
Secretary Quang, for his part, highly appreciated the role of the Consulate General in Pakse in connecting and supporting Vietnamese firms to do business in Lao provinces.
He hoped that Consul General Trung would continue doing his utmost to foster the cooperation relations between Da Nang and the south central provinces of Laos.
He also took the opportunity to ask the Vietnamese community in Champasak Province, and Laos as a whole, to promote and spread Vietnamese culture, preserve the Vietnamese language for generations, and help each other all aspects of life.
Also on the same day, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade held a fair on trade connection between businesses in Da Nang and the south central provinces of Laos.
In his remarks at the event, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh believed that the trade connection fair would open up more opportunities for Da Nang and Lao businesses to promote their cooperation and friendly relations in the time to come.
Also at the fair, 15 participating Da Nang enterprises displayed such products as tablets, oil filters, air filters, southeast medicinal products, cordyceps, baked coconut cakes, bird's nests, coffee, dried seafood, agarwood and agricultural products.
