Da Nang, Gunma promote establishment of official cooperation ties

Da Nang is willing to create favourable conditions for Japanese investors, including those from Gunma Prefecture, to land investment in local hi-tech and IT industries, municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said on Friday during his reception for Governor of Gunma Prefecture of Japan Yamamoto Ichita.

During the meeting, Secretary Quang briefed his guest on the city’s great potential for developing high technology, information technology, especially tourism and services as being one of the five centrally-governed cities of Viet Nam.

Boasting modern and synchronous high-tech and information technology infrastructure, Da Nang is ready to welcome more Japanese businesses, including those from Gunma Prefecture, he said.

Currently, the number of enterprises, representative offices and projects from Japan ranks first among more than 40 countries and territories investing in Da Nang.

The city Party chief hoped that the visit made by the Gunma governor will further open up many cooperation and investment opportunities in Da Nang for Japanese investors.

The municipal authority will create the best conditions for Japanese businesses to invest in the locality, he affirmed.

In reply, Governor of Gunma Prefecture Yamamoto Ichita thanked Secretary Quang for his warm welcome, affirming the purpose of his visit being to strengthen economic cooperation ties between Gunma and Viet Nam, and Da Nang as well.

The Japanese guest said that Gunma is very interested in Da Nang because it has great potential for development, so in the future, Gunma will call for more businesses from his locality to Da Nang to seek investment opportunities.

In addition to hi-tech and IT industries, Gunma is interested in cooperation in digital technology, tourism, manufacturing technology, and digital with Da Nang, he said, expressing the hope that the two sides will establish official cooperation relations in the coming time.
