During the reception for his guests, Chairman Le Trung Chinh said that Da Nang was one of the localities to record a relatively fast economic recovery in the first half of 2022. The growth rate of the city's economy during that period reached 7.23%, and the State budget collection hit nearly 70% of the year’s estimates.

He added that Da Nang identified private investment and foreign direct investment (FDI) as a vital driving force for its socio-economic development. Therefore, it prioritised pursuing selective investment attraction; linking investment attraction with national security and defence assurance, and natural resource and environment protection; and luring more FDI projects in order to accelerate the process of technology transfer and participation in the global value chain.

Da Nang was named among the leading provinces and cities in the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). It topped the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) rankings in 2021, and was ranked third place among the 63 cities and provinces nationwide in the 2021 Public Administration Reform Index.

The host said he would like Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai to act as a bridge to call for more Indian investors and businesses to invest into Da Nang in the years ahead.

He asked for support from Mr. Hai to facilitate India's ADANI Group to implement infrastructure development projects in Da Nang, especially the Lien Chieu Port project, promote the opening of direct flights between Da Nang and India, and attract Indian tourists to Da Nang, in the coming time.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai revealed that India's policy was to prioritise strengthening bilateral cooperation with Viet Nam in the years to come. He expressed his hope that Da Nang-India air routes should be opened soon in order to push trade and tourism connection between the two sides.

The guest vowed that during his tenure he would do his utmost to support the city to approach and connect with Indian businesses and partners, thereby creating opportunities to attract tourists and MICE guests to Da Nang, as well as promoting investment and expanding markets.
