Chairman Chinh highly lauded the outgoing South Korean diplomat’s practical and meaningful activities, contributing to promoting the relationships between Da Nang and the Consulate General of South Korea in Da Nang, and South Korean businesses, partners and citizens.

The host informed that within the framework of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's recent visit to South Korea, the leaders of the two countries decided to uplift their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This will help deepen the bilateral ties between South Korea and Viet Nam, and Da Nang in particular, in the time to come.

The municipal government pledged to create maximum conditions for South Korean businesses and citizens in Da Nang, and coordinate well with the new South Korean Consul General in the near future, Mr. Chinh emphasised.

The city leader said he believed that no matter what his position, Mr Ahn Min-sik will well fulfill his assigned tasks, always be a good friend and supporter of Da Nang, and continue contributing to relations between Da Nang and South Korea.

For his part, South Korean diplomat thanked the authorities and people of Da Nang for creating favourable conditions and providing maximum support for himself and the South Korean Consulate in Da Nang.

He added, over the past years, despite the impact of COVID-19, the South Korean Consulate in Da Nang and the municipal government have implemented many cooperation activities in all aspects. Notably, the Da Nang government actively supported Korean citizens and businesses in Da Nang during the pandemic.

According to Mr. Ahn Min Sik, during the January - October period, the number of South Korean tourists accounted for 68% of the total number of foreign visitors to Da Nang. Exchange and cooperation activities in the spheres of economy, labour, education and culture between Da Nang and South Korean localities and businesses prospered.
