During her meeting on Wednesday with Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh, Swedish Ambassador to Viet Nam Ann Mawe expressed her impression on Da Nang's rapid growth, and its green, clean, beautiful, and safe living environment. She affirmed that Da Nang is a worth living city in Viet Nam.

She revealed that Sweden has been focusing on human resource training, innovation, smart cities, and green transformation that are potential fields for the two sides to cooperate and develop, thereby greatly contributing to deepening the relationship between Sweden and Viet Nam.

For his part, Chairman Chinh informed about the city’s socio-economic situation and its development orientation in the near future, especially the construction of an international financial center.

He also introduced his guest to a number of aspects that the city is appealing for investment such as semiconductor technology, information technology, high-tech, innovative startups, smart cities, beach ports, and tourism.

According to Mr. Chinh, Da Nang and the Swedish city of Boras have established a cooperative relationship since 2012. The two sides have effectively implemented many cooperation programmes in the fields of education, environmental protection and others.

Currently, the Swedish-invested Somogyi Kristian Engineering Consultancy Ltd. specialising in providing equipment design and technology consulting services is operating in the city.

In addition, Swedish electronics and electrical appliance companies in Viet Nam such as ABB, Elextrolux and Ericsson have opened representative offices in Da Nang.

Chairman Chinh took the opportunity to ask for help from diplomat Ann Mawe to call on more Swedish businesses to visit and seek investment opportunities in Da Nang in the time to come.

He vowed that the municipal government will fully support and create all conditions for Swedish investors and businesses to effectively invest and operate in the city.
