Promote ties between Da Nang and Japanese localities, businesses

On Wednesday, Da Nang leaders hosted receptions for outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Yamada Takio who came to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in the country.

During his meeting with Ambassador Yamada Takio, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary cum Head of the Da Nang delegation of National Assembly deputies Nguyen Van Quang congratulated the ambassador on successfully completing his duties for nearly 4 years.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang, Secretary Quang acknowledged, appreciated and thanked the ambassador's great enthusiasm and ceaseless efforts in helping call for Japanese localities and businesses to invest in Da Nang, contributing to the city's socio-economic development.

In particular, 2023 commemorated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan (1973 - 2023). Da Nang organised many meaningful and large-scale activities and events that left many good impressions in the hearts of the people of the two countries.

The Da Nang’s Party chief said that this contributed to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and Japan for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World.

Secretary Quang expressed his hope that the ambassador, regardless of future role or position, will continue to support the Da Nang government in socio-economic development and people-to-people exchanges between Da Nang and Japanese localities.

At the same time, he believed that the positive and sincere relationship between Da Nang and Japanese localities would increasingly develop well in the future.

“The government, people of Da Nang and I personally always consider the ambassador a close friend, ready to welcome like a family member when the ambassador visits the city”, Secretary Quang expressed.

On the same morning, during his Ambassador Yamada Takio, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh congratulated the ambassador on his successful term in Da Nang. At the same time, he thanked the ambassador for always having good feelings for the city, promoting many relationships between Da Nang and Japanese businesses and partners as well as creating favourable conditions for Da Nang to cooperate effectively with Japanese businesses and localities in recent times.

At the receptions, Ambassador Yamada Takio expressed his joy and honour when receiving a certificate of merit from the city's leaders for his positive contribution to strengthening international cooperation and friendship in 2023.

During his working term, Ambassador Yamada Takio visited Da Nang 9 times, and each visit left many emotions, impressions, and beautiful memories on him about the beautiful image, people and culture of Da Nang.

The ambassador informed the Da Nang leaders that Japanese businesses and investors are very interested in the field of digital transformation and green transformation; infrastructure development, especially the Lien Chieu seaport project. Through this, he hoped that the city leaders would create favourable conditions for Japanese businesses and investors to explore investment opportunities in the city.

When it comes to service and tourism sectors, the ambassador highly appreciated the increasingly effective cooperation between Da Nang and Japan-based Mikazuki Group, hoping that in the coming time the two sides would continue to make more development strides and expand cooperation into many new fields.

The Japanese diplomat sincerely thanked the Da Nang leaders for always supporting and helping the Japanese Consulate General in Da Nang, the Japanese business community and more than 400 Japanese people living and working in Da Nang over recent years.

Ambassador Yamada Takio believed that the relationship between Japan and Viet Nam, and between Da Nang and Japanese localities in particular, will continue to develop strongly.
