Mr. Mori Takero, the newly-accredited Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, on Monday morning, paid a courtesy visit, and handed a consular authentication which was issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to leader of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs.

Director Nguyen Xuan Binh wished the Japanese diplomat a successful working term in Da Nang. He affirmed that the department will actively coordinate and support the Japanese Consulate General in Da Nang to operate effectively.

He voiced his hope that the Consul General will strongly boost investment promotion activities in such spheres as hi-tech, semiconductor and tourism between Da Nang and Japanese localities and businesses.

He also asked for support from the Japanese guest to promote the opening of new air routes between Da Nang and Japanese localities, thereby contributing to fostering tourism and trade cooperation in the years ahead.

Mr. Mori Takero affirmed that he will do his utmost to promote investment and trade cooperation between Japan and Da Nang in particular, and other localities in Central Viet Nam in general, actively contributing to the development of the Viet Nam - Japan good relations in the coming time.

He asked for close coordination with the city authorities to successfully organise the forthcoming Viet Nam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival in July 2024.
