Da Nang, Quang Nam strengthen cooperation for mutual development
The Party Committees of Da Nang and its neighbouring province of Quang Nam, jointly organised a meeting on Monday to review the implementation of the cooperation and development programmes between the two localities.

Over recent years, Da Nang and Quang Nam have initially achieved some positive cooperation results in economic and tourism development; investment promotion; infrastructure building; natural resource and mineral exploitation and management; education and healthcare; and ensuring social security and defence.
In particular, the two localities have reviewed the planning and development orientation of the inter-provincial transportation system; encouraged local enterprises to survey the market, and do businesses at Nam Giang International Border Gate; and supported the production and consumption of agricultural and OCOP products.
Also, the two localities have coordinated to inspect and supervise the operation of upstream hydroelectric plants in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin to ensure the effective exploitation and use of water resources, and safe water supply for the Cau Do Water Plant.
Da Nang continues to support Quang Nam Province in collecting, transcribing, and restoring a number of documents and artifacts related to the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the US imperialists which are currently kept at the Da Nang Museum; as well as in upgrading the Quang Da Party Committee’s Special Zone on the Hon Tau Mountain in Duy Xuyen district.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet thanked the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang for their special care for Quang Nam in many fields, especially social welfare.
He highlighted the practicality and efficiency of recent coordination programmes between the two localities. He stressed the need for the two sides to boost linkage in tourism development, with focuses on promoting community-based tourism, exploiting the Da Nang - Cham Island inland waterway tourism route, and developing urban space along the Co Co river.
Along with that, the two localities will pay attention to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of information technology, especially digital transformation, administrative reform, and human resource training in digital transformation and for the semiconductor industry.
For his part, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang suggested the Standing Boards of the Da Nang and Quang Nam Province Party Committees jointly propose to the Central Government a number of issues related to transport infrastructure, especially infrastructure to prevent and control floods and storms, and to ensure water sources for daily life and production for the two localities.
In addition, he also highly agreed that the two localities will propose to the Central Government, especially the Prime Minister, to effectively implement the recently-approved North Central and Central Coast Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
