Linh started to be caught up in the global do-it-yourself slime craze when she was only a 3rd grader. With the help of some YouTube videos, she embarked upon make this type of toy.

Linh said the ingredients in slime recipes are simple and it’s easy to make. Included are craft glue, water, borax, oral cleanser for babies, and such decorations as glitter, food colouring and even make-up.

Slime is a unique play material composed of a cross-linked polymer. It is classified as a liquid, and is typically made by combining polyvinyl alcohol solutions with borate ions in a large mixing container. It often has an unpleasant odor, a green colour, and is cold and slimy to the touch.

Toy slime is typically composed of tangled, long-chain polymer molecules. These polymer molecules can be thought of as spaghetti strands. When put together on a plate, the strands are mixed together making a tangled mess. If the strands are rubbed together, they line up and become smoother. This motion gives the mass its slimy, slippery feel.

Linh usually spend her free time to make slime products at home which demonstrate her rich imagination, creativeness and dexterity.

The little girl started to act as a ‘trader’ in March when her mother displayed her boxes of slime for sale at her photocopy shop located at home. At that time, Linh sold between 5 and 10 boxes of slime each day.

In early April, Linh took the initiative to ask for permission from her mother to sell her products at a night market held at the Helio Centre entertainment complex on 2 September Street.

Although nightly booth lease fee at this venue is high-250,000VND, Linh’s mother decided to give financial assistance for her daughter’s desire, as a move, hereby, offering the little girl a good opportunity to explore her creativity and imagination, and enhance her self-confidence and interpersonal communication and other necessary life skills.

The eye-catching lovely boxes of slime on display the night market have always attracted a great deal of attention from visitors, especially pupils and students, even foreigners.

Apart from ‘touting for business’ at the Helio night market, Linh sells her own products on the social networks.

Each box of slime made by the talented school-aged girl is now worth between 25,000 VND and 60,000VND, depending on size and intricacy.

Despite spending much of her time pursuing her strong passion for making slime, Linh always focus on her studies as the most important task. She gained outstanding academic results over the past 5 years. Besides, the little girl is also good at foreign languages and hiphop.
