Localities in the mid-central region from Quang Binh and Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, are reeling under intense heatwave conditions which are predicted to continue into the next 4 - 6 days, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned.

The hot spell is resulted from the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.

The average high temperature in the daytime is hovering at between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and even over 39 degree Celsius in some parts of the mid-central region, especially from 11.00am until 4.00pm.

Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported as between 40% and 50%.

According to regional weather forecasters, Da Nang is expected to brace for scorching heat with highs in the daytime soaring to 38 degrees Celsius, whilst the lowest humidity is reported as between 45% and 50%.

The sweltering heat is expected to persist across the city for several more days.

In particular, Da Nang is likely to see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon.
