31.1 billion VND raised for the poor
During the nationwide Peak Month for the Poor 2018 between 17 September and 17 October, the Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) raised over 3.9 billion VND in total from generous donors.
As of 18 November, a total of 31.105 billion VND had been raised by FFC at all levels for the city's Fund for the Poor. Of this, 6.452 billion VND had been raised by the municipal-level FFC, whilst the remaining 24.653 billion VND had been appealed by district-level FFCs.
Of the donated money, 5.279 billion VND went to help 125 poor local families build new houses, and 5.733 billion VND to assist 381 other poor families repair their downgraded houses.
In addition, a total of 2.452 billion VND was spent on supporting the livelihoods to 1,364 needy people, 295.5 million VND on giving medical examinations and treatment to 131 people, and 1.687 billion VND on granting scholarships for 2,325 pupils and students.
