Plane makes emergency landing at Da Nang to rescue passenger
A Vietnam Airlines plane made an emergency landing at the Da Nang International Airport on Friday morning to save a female passenger after her wound in the left side of her chest started bleeding heavily.
The flight VN1262 had left Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City at 6.40 am for Vinh City. However, around 40 minutes after the flight took off, an unidentified female passenger at seat No 18B founded her wound in the left side of her chest started bleeding, so she asked for cotton gauze from flight attendants to dress her own wounds.
First aid was carried out immediately but the bleeding did not stop, and the health condition of the victim showed no signs of improvement because the plane was at an altitude of about 10,000m at this time.
The flight chief pilot therefore decided to fly back to the Da Nang airport so that emergency treatment could be given to the victim.
Some Vietnam Airlines representatives at the airport prepared the ambulance to take the victim to the Hoan My Da Nang Hospital for medical treatment because she travelled alone.
The flight left Da Nang at 9.00am to continue its flight to Vinh City. The airline apologised to passengers onboard and hoped to receive their sympathy for the emergency landing.
