Arrivals from Ha Noi and HCMC to the city to pay for quarantine
Da Nang will quarantine all arrivals from Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, including returning residents, at designated sites for 14 days, the municipal authorities announced on Saturday.
From 5 April, all arrivals by sea, air, road, rail will be kept under observation for two weeks. That means even Da Nang residents will not be allowed to return home except under 'special circumstances'. They will also have to cover the cost of their quarantines.
The Da Nang authorities have announced the new measures to stop new arrivals from bringing the deadly pathogen into their city.
Also, the municipal government has ordered a 14-day self-isolation for anyone arriving in the city from 1- 4 April from Vietnamese localities with high numbers of infections namely Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, along with other affected areas around the country to try to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
The mandatory quarantines and costs to arrivals are 'helpful measures' that could encourage people from Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, including returning residents, to think carefully about visiting Da Nang.
