Ex-pats support Da Nang's efforts against Covid-19

Many ex-pats who are living and working in Da Nang have been active in supporting the city's efforts to combat Covid-19.

In the morning of 3 August, some representatives from South Korea's Reach and Development Co., Ltd., headquartered in Son Tra District, donated essential supplies to frontline healthcare workers to help them fight Covid-19.

The donations comprised of 15,000 surgical masks, 500 carton boxes of water bottles, 500 tubes of vitamin C, and 60 bottles of antibacterial hand sanitizer.

Apart from giving donations to the city's frontliners, South Korean company has offered free surgical masks and tubes of vitamin C to Da Nang's residents and South Korean expats in the city over the past 2 weeks.

General Director of the Company Kim Won Hoon said that, like other foreign firms operating in the city, his company involving in providing visa, investment and real estate consultancy services, has received great care and support from Da Nang government over recent years.

"Although we have been facing unprecedented challenges presented by the Covid-19 outbreak, we are willing join the efforts with Da Nang in its battle against the pandemic" Mr Kim Won Hoon remarked.

Mr Kim Won Hoon said his company is willing to do all it can to support Da Nang through the Covid-19 crisis and hoped that Da Nang will be succeeding in the fight against the coronavirus.

On 7 August, 33-year-old Mike Harris from the UK, who is an English teacher in Da Nang, donated 1.7 million VND to help the city tackle the Covid-19 outbreak.

The British national said this was a small amount of money but he wants to support the city's efforts in the battle against the pandemic.

Mr Mike Harris also applauded Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, for their efforts to take proactive and timely measures to stem the spread of the virus.

Notably, the British national is using social media to appeal his friends and British expats in the city to donate more cash and in-kind support to help Da Nang fight the coronavirus outbreak.

“I am trying to convey a message of love and hope for Da Nang during the coronavirus crisis. I'm so glad at receiving a lot of support from my friends and the expat community here” Mike said happily.
