One more Covid-19 patient in Da Nang given all-clear for coronavirus

One more Covid-19 patient in Da Nang had fully recovered and was discharged from the Lung Hospital on Wednesday morning, bringing the total number of patients given the all-clear in the city to 5 till date after the city saw a second wave of Covid-19 infections in late July .

The patient was discharged after having tested negative for the virus four times.

The completed-cured patient is a 61-year-old female resident of Hai Chau District’s Hoa Thuan Dong Ward. The woman was transfered to the hospital on 31 July for treatment after testing positive for the virus.

Dr Tran Thanh Linh, Deputy Head of the Emergency Recovery Department of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital, said the patient had medical history of hypertension, and she used oxygen therapy during her first period of medical treatment.

The woman is no longer contagious, Dr Linh said.

Local healthcare workers will put in place close monitoring of the woman during her 14-day self- quarantine period at her residence after discharge following the Ministry of Health's guidelines.

Earlier on 10 August, 4 of the Covid-19 patients being treated for the novel coronavirus in Da Nang were discharged from the Lung Hospital.

Dr Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Director of the Da Nang Department of Health, said happily that additional 30 Covid-19 patients in the city will be given the all-clear from coronavirus and released from medical facilities in the next few days.
