Heavy rain triggers flooding in low-lying villages of Da Nang's suburb district
Floodwater discharged from hydropower dams on the upstream of Vu Gia and Thu Bon rivers in the light of prolonged stretches of ceaseless torrential rain over recent days triggered irritating flooding in many downstream areas in Da Nang’s suburban Hoa Vang District on Friday.

The La Bong and Le Son 2 villages were still flooded on Friday afternoon and many homes were submerged under up to 50 cm of water.
Recorded in La Bong Village, more than 700 homes were inundated. Since October until now, this hard-hit village has been flooded for seven times.
The unexpected incidents left the affected families without power and clean water, which made their lives turn upside down.
In light of the severe flooding, the only access to the village was by boat. Many local people had to rush to higher places for safety.
Also getting stuck in the same inundation trouble, some roads were submerged in water on Friday afternoon, causing travel disruption.
“Never before has the flood happened continuously and lasted for so long like this year. Whenever I hear an announcement about rising floodwater, the whole family goes to market to stock up, mainly on food”, a resident complained.
Meanwhile, the water has already receded in the villages of An Trach, Cam Ne, Nam Son and Le Son Nam in this low-lying commune, allowing residents to start cleanups on their house caked in mud.
Below are some photos taken by our reporters, reflecting how flooding trouble the daily life of the affected inhabitants.
