The Japanese businesses comprised the Nippon Koei Company, the Japan Port Consultants Ltd. (JPC), the Ernst & Young Shin Nihon LLC, and the Overseas Coastal Area Development Institute of Japan (OCDI).

During their stay in Da Nang, the Japanese guests met with leaders of the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment to discuss planning strategies for the Port and nearby areas, and the preparations for workshops on attracting investment under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) form for the project.

Given promises at the meeting, the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment and relevant local agencies are willing to facilitate JICA to conduct survey and collect data for the construction of the port.

JICA will send a report on the research results to the Da Nang authorities for consideration and approval no later than March 2021.

While meeting with Secretary of the Lien Chieu District Party Committee Tran Phuoc Son, JICA representatives revealed that a JICA-funded project on enhancing capacity for climate change adaptation and disaster risk mitigation would be carried out in the district in the time to come.
