Over 49 billion VND for supporting the needy in Da Nang
The Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection and its chapters across the city together raised more than 49 billion VND in total from generous philanthropists from both home and overseas for their charitable activities.
The donated money went to build new houses or repair downgraded ones for 21 poor families, give 8,049 scholarships to poor studious pupils, and provide nearly 76,000 portions of meals for poor patients and social policy beneficiaries.
Most proudly, the Association received an emulation flag from the Viet Nam Association for Protection of Child's Rights in recognition of its leading role in the protection of children's rights in 2020.
In 2021, the Association will focus on promoting and protecting the rights of children, and raising 34 billion VND or more to help those in need across the city.
The charity organisation also plans to organise a fundraising concert to raise funds for the poor, including children living in very difficult circumstances.
