Temporary closure imposed on non-essential services in Da Nang following COVID-19 positive case
The Da Nang government has imposed temporary closure of non-essential services across the city starting from 0:00am on May 4 until further notice in a bid to minimise large gatherings as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The municipal administration’s decision came after the city reported a confirmed COVID-19 positive case on Monday evening.
Non-essential events, including festivals, cultural, religious and artistic events, are banned.
Likewise, non-essential businesses and services, including bars, karaoke and massage parlors, discotheques, entertainment spots, electronic games, theaters, casinos, public internet services, pedestrian streets and night markets have their operation halted temporarily.
Also, gymnastics, indoor and outdoor sports activities, yoga, billiards, swimming, and martial arts with direct interpersonal contact are temporarily prohibited.
Feasts with large gatherings, including weddings and funerals, are allowed but limited to 30 participants maximum.
Restaurants, cafes and other food and beverage businesses need to adhere by coronavirus prevention measures while encouraging takeaways.
Public transport services, including ride-hailing services like GrabCar and taxi, are allowed but cannot carry more than half the number of people they're allowed to carry.
All public and private schools across the city are closed.
Businesses and services which do not adhere by COVID-19 prevention measures would be forced to be suspended.
Events with political, economic or social purposes that are deemed truly necessary must ask for permission from the municipal government.
