Twenty-six new COVID-19 cases identified in Da Nang

Da Nang registered 26 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, July 27,  the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control announced.

Of the 26 newly-confirmed patients, 16 were detected during their stay at the city’s centralised medical quarantine facilities, eight were found in the community, one was spotted from the larrge-scale sampling for COVID-19 testing in blockaded neighborhoods and the remaining one was a  medical worker who worked at the Da Nang COVID-19 field hospital to the west of the city.

Ten of the total 26 confirmed cases were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Tho Quang fishing wharf, bringing the total infections till date to 50. Meanwhile, 34 cases related to the Da Son slaughterhouse  have been spotted up to now.

Meanwhile, the infection chain at the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park is still highly transmissible with 8positive cases logged on July 27, bringing the total infections to 195 till date.

Of special note, the eight cases found in the community on July 27 were out-patients who voluntarily came to medical establishments for COVID-19 testing following showing such symptoms as fever and cough.

The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 464 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city.
