Da Nang reports 77 new COVID-19 infections on Aug.5, including 5 community-acquired cases
Da Nang confirmed 77 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, August 5 of which 59 cases were put under mandatory quarantine at centralised facilities,13 were already-blockaded areas and only 5 were spotted in the community, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control freshly said.
woth regard to the community-acquired cases detected on Thursday, 4 infected patients were detected during their in-person visits to medical establishments for checkups and the remaining one was documented from the so-called ‘one door, one test’ campaign.
Of special note, 60 out of the total 77 cases logged on Thursday were linked to the highly transmissible infection chain at the Son Tra District-based Tho Quang fishing wharf, bringing the total infections here to 527 till date.
Based on the latest number of infections, Son Tra District is still a coronavirus hotspot in Da Nang, recording 43 cases on Thursday, including 20 cases in Man Thai Ward, 9 in Nai Hien Dong Ward, 7 in Tho Quang Ward and 4 in Phuoc My.
The total infections recorded in the city have climbed to 1,092 since July 10.
