Da Nang continues to administer the AstraZeneca vaccine to 100,000 people
Doctor Nguyen Tien Hong, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health, has said that the city will continue the rollout of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine until September 25 as it tries to ramp up its immunisation drive.
Additional 100,000 eligible beneficiaries in Da Nang will get first shot of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine under the city’s vaccine rollout as part of the city’s overall strategy to successfully tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
The vaccine will be given to 1,500 employees in businesses and government agencies, 5,300 people working in transport, electricity, aviation, food and pharmaceuticals services, 1,000 workers at construction sites, 465 staff members of administrative agencies, 735 people working at private clinics, 21,000 residents in Hai Chau District, 18,000 in Thanh Khe District, 14,500 in Son Tra District, 7,000 in Ngu Hanh Son District, 8,500 in Lien Chieu District, 9,500 in Cam Le District, and 12,500 in Hoa Vang District.
As of September 20, a total of 684,356 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been distributed in Da Nang. Till date, 565,252 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Da Nang, of which, 490,449 people received the first dose while 74,520 others got their second shot.
