The Da Nang People’s Committee, on October 12, issued a document on temporarily guiding travel to the city from provinces and cities nationwide and vice versa.

Under the new regulations, people living in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province must only make medical declarations to be eligible for travelling between the two localities without showing certificates of negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 as previously required.

However, they are required to show either permanent/temporary residence registration cards or identification cards proving that they are citizens of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province, or local authorities-granted certificates confirming frequent travel between the two localities.

Before their planned arrivals in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province, travellers must make medical declarations on the "Register to arrive in Da Nang" column on the Danang Smart City app or the "People register to arrive in Da Nang" column at https://khaibaoyte.danang.gov.vn/. Messages containing QR codes for official confirmation will be sent to them.

Afterwards, at the existing checkpoints set up at entrances to Da Nang, travellers must show the staff on duty there the QR codes to be eligible to arrive in or return to Da Nang.

At the same time, travellers must make commitments that they did not go anywhere but Da Nang and Quang Nam Province within the past 14 days, as well as they would travel and return on a fixed route, and strictly comply with the Health Ministry-mandated 5K recommendations.

As reported on October 12 at the quarantine checkpoints C5 (set up on the National Highway 1A in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Phuoc Commune) and C10 (set up on Tran Dai Nghia Street, Ngu Hanh Son District), the staff on duty there allowed people to freely travel between Da Nang and Quang Nam Province, but only controlled arrivals to the city from other localities.

At the quarantine checkpoint C5, Lieutenant Vo Nguyen Hoang Phuc from the Hoa Vang District Department of Public Security said that traffic police on duty there thoroughly guided motorbike riders from Quang Nam Province who wanted to enter Da Nang to make medical declarations and register online to be granted a QR code to enter the city.

On the first day of the implementation of the new regulations, the number of arrivals to Da Nang was higher than in the previous days. However, the time taken for handling necessary procedures for such travellers was significantly shortened thanks to the implementation of the new regulations guiding travel between Da Nang and Quang Nam Province without testing for SARS-CoV-2.
