On October 12, Da Nang reported 4 new coronavirus cases, all of which were detected in managed isolation, according to the municipal Steering Board of COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Da Nang has seen no new community transmission cases for many consecutive days

Two out of the 4 aforementioned cases were detected in the city’s designated quarantine establishments.

The remainder were returnees from the southern coronavirus-stricken cities of HCM City and Binh Duong.

The duo were found to be infected with COVID-19 via mandatory rapid antigen tests whilst passing through a checkpoint set up at Da Nang’s gateway.

On the same day, Da Nang’s functional forces received 82 returnees from other pandemic-stricken localities, all of whom were put under mandatory quarantine in line with the regulations.

Currently, 175 returnees are staying at the city’s designated concentrated quarantine areas whilst 286 others are self-quarantining at home.

There are 13 still- in-operation facilities putting a combined total of 382 people under quarantine.

For the time being, Da Nang only has one blockaded area in An Khe Ward, Thanh Khe District with links to previous COVID-19 infections, housing 23 households with a combined total of 91 residents.

Since July 10 when the current COVID-19 wave started in Da Nang, 4,681 active cases have been logged citywide.
