The Da Nang government has announced that more restrictions were lifted in the city from 0am today, October 16 but a number of restrictions will remain.

The measures announced are the most significant changes to how the pandemic is managed since August 25.

Da Nang is at a moderate risk level for COVID-19 and it will implement appropriate measures that apply to alert level 2.

Strict stay-at-home order remains in effect for red zones where new COVID-19 community cases have been detected and full lockdown are being imposed.

Such non-essential services as beauty salons (except for hairdressing establishments), karaoke bars, massage parlors, night clubs, casinos, public internet access points, and points of service providing electronic games in public will remain closed.

No more than 40 persons can gather for such indoor events as meetings, training courses, seminars, in agencies, organizations and businesses. The public can attend these events in person subject to all masking and distancing requirements.

A ceiling of not more than 120 persons will apply in the above-mentioned events but requiring that 95% of the participants have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered from COVID-19 within the previous six months.

Indoor gatherings for religious services to be conducted in a place of worship will be permitted where no more than a total of 40 people are gathered.

No more than 30 people can meet in a private home for birthday celebrations and other parties.

Drinking and eating establishments (including restaurants for weddings) can resume indoor seating but these venues will be capped at not more than 50% capacity. Maximum capacity of clients inside these venues at any one time will not exceed 200.

Cinemas and theatres can operate at not more than 50% capacity.

Organised outdoor events for concerts and sports training and physical activity limited to no more than 100 persons. A ceiling of not more than 300 persons will apply in the above-mentioned events where 95% of the persons attending are either fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19 within the previous six months.

Owners and staff of hair salons must have received one COVID-19 vaccine dose at least 14 days. Maximum capacity of clients inside the salon at any one time will not exceed 5.

Compliance with the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the use of QR codes will be compulsory for crowded venues.

Agencies, organizations, and businesses will be only allowed to reopen with the proper safety measures in place in line with the guidance from the Ministry of Health in order to prevent and mitigate COVID-19 at work. Using a QR code for visitor management will be made mandatory in businesses, shopping centres and services.

People entering and leaving Da Nang must complete a health control form online on the city-developed app and obtain their QR Code, to show it at the control points upon entry and exit.

Harsh punishments will be imposed on persons who are found violating the city’s COVID-19 rules.

The public is advised to seek urgent and emergent care at their nearest healthcare facilities without delay and not taking their own medications if they have symptoms of COVID-19 such as a fever, cough or loss of smell and taste.
