Over 150 passengers on a HCMC-Da Nang flight quarantined after one person aboard tests positive

Doctor Nguyen Tien Hong, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health has said that over 150 passengers who shared the flight VN 9126 with a COVID-19 infected man from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang have been placed under quarantine.

The 27-year-old man, a resident of Hoa Vang District, tested positive on October 13 after arriving in Da Nang on October 12.

The health agency has issued a 7-day mandatory quarantine order for all passengers who were on the plane with him in line with the Ministry of Health’s guidance outlined in Decision No 3416/QĐ-BYT issued on July 30. During their stay in managed isolation, all passengers must undergo COVID-19 testing on the first and seventh day of quarantine.

They will be required to isolate at home for next 7 days after leaving designated quarantine.

However, 14-day home quarantine has been applied to the passengers who are older people, those with underlying health conditions, pregnant women, and younger people below 18 years, and all of them are in isolation with their caregivers.
