23 community infections among 75 new COVID-19 cases logged in Da Nang on Nov.30

Da Nang recorded 75 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 30, of which 23 were found in the community, seven  in local centralised quarantine facilities, 30 during at-home quarantine, 15 in locked-down residential sites, four at quarantine checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said in its latest bulletin.

Of the 23 community-acquired cases, four were returnees to Da Nang from the Binh Dinh and Binh Duong provinces detected via tests conducted at quarantine checkpoints set up at the city’s gateways.

The remaining 19 community-acquired patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 through tests conducted at some medical facilities citywide following their displaying of some suspicious symptoms. In detail, five cases were found at the private Thien Nhan Clinic, whilst three at the private Tam Tri General Hospital, two each at the Hoan My Da Nang Hospital, Lien Chieu District Medical Centre, Y Duc Clinic, and one each at Binh Dan Hospital, the Health Station of An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District, Dong Duong Clinic, Hoa Khanh Clinic, Family Hospital and the Thanh Khe District Medical Centre.

The 75 cases recorded on Tuesday were related to 24 highly contiguous infection chains.

In particular, 53 out of the 75 cases were likely to spread to the community.

As for districts, Son Tra recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections on Tuesday with 21, followed by Lien Chieu and Lien Chieu with 14 each, Hai Chau with 12, Cam Le with eight, hoa Vang with three and Ngu Hanh Son with two.

There are currently 181 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 1,309 households with a combined total of 8,592 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 1,199 people are being put under compulsory quarantine in 17 centralised facilities.

Da Nang has recorded 1.090 infections, 112 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide, since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community-based cases.
