Da Nang sees daily number of COVID-19 community infections climb to 32 among 65 new cases on Nov.23

Da Nang recorded 32 new community infections of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 23, and 33 cases found under managed isolation, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed.

Out of the 32 community-based cases, one each was respectively found in residential places, namely Bui Xuong Tu Street (Hoa Tho Dong Ward, Cam Le District) with the place of work being the Cam Le District Medical Centre, Hoang Dieu Street (Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District) with previous exposure to the Cobao pub, Dinh Tien Hoang Street (Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Chau District) with the relation with the Huu Nghi company, Han Mac Tu Street (Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District), Van Duong 1 Village (Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District), Au Co Street (Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District) with the place of work being the Viet Hoa company, residential group No.6 (Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District), To Hieu Street (Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District), Phuoc Ly Street (Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District), Ngo Quyen Street (An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District), Pho Duc Chinh Street (An Hai Bac Ward), residential group No. 48 (An Hai Bac ward), Duong Van Nga Street (Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District), Nguyen Phuc Street (Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District) with the place of work being the Thuan Phuoc seafood company, Ngo Quyen Street (Tho Quang Ward), Vu Tong Phan Street (Tho Quang Ward), Tran Nhan Tong Street (Tho Quang Ward), Le Tan Trung Street (Tho Quang Ward), residential group No. 4 (Tho Quang Ward), Van Cao Street (Vinh Trung Ward, Thanh Khe District), Tran Cao Van Street (Xuan Ha Ward, Thanh Khe District.

Meanwhile, Dao Duy Anh Street (Thac Gian Ward, Thanh Khe District), Hoang Si Khai Street (An Hai Bac Ward) and a Hoa Khanh social housing apartment (Hoa Khanh Bac Ward) detected two active cases each.

Also, three others were detected on Nguyen Phan Vinh Street (Tho Quang Ward).

The remaining community-acquired ones are the natives of neighbouring Quang Nam province.

Apart from the detection of 32 community-based cases, the city logged 33 cases under managed isolation, eight of which were found in centralised quarantine facilities, 24 during mandatory at-home quarantine, and the remaining one in a locked-down residential site.

The cases recorded on Tuesday were linked 17 chains of infection, 16 of which are highly transmissible, local medical experts warned.

In particular, 58 out of the 65 cases of COVID-19 in were likely to spread to the community, recorded in six out of the total seven districts, namely Son Tra with 20 cases, Thanh Khe with 10, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang with nine each, Hai Chau with five and Cam Le with three.

Also on Tuesday, a combined total of 30,175 local residents across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing, 28,510 of whom tested for the virus via the RT-PCR technique whilst the rest were subject to the rapid antigen testing.

Up to now, 1,556,310 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to Da Nang residents.

Of the vaccinated people throughout Da Nang, 939,212 have received the first shots of COVID-19 vaccines whilst 617,098 have got the second jabs against the highly contagious disease.

There are currently 105 completely- blockaded residential areas, putting 985 households with a combined total of 4,088 people under lockdown.

A combined total of 762 people are put under compulsory quarantine in 16 centralised facilities.

Da Nang has recorded 600 infections, 74 of which were returnees from other cities and provinces nationwide, since October 16 when the city saw the resurgence of COVID-19 community-based cases.
