As of early 2022, 123 enterprises operating in Da Nang-based Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (IP) had signed contracts to have their wastewater transferred into the IP’s centralised wastewater treatment station, said Mr. Ngo Le Quang, the Director of the Central Viet Nam branch of the Ha Noi Urban Environment Limited Company - URENCO - the station’s operating unit.

Currently, the Hoa Khanh IP’s centralised wastewater treatment station boasts a daily capacity of 6,000m³, stabilising the quality of treated water meeting discharge standards.

Over the past years, URENCO has focused on upgrading work items at the centralised wastewater treatment station such as warehouse and mud drying yard, large capacity submersible pump system and the installation of an outlet flow meter.

In the coming years, many Hoa Khanh IP-based enterprises are expected to increase their production and business scales, and this may lead to a rise in the demand for wastewater treatment. URENCO will, therefore, upgrade the station’s daily treatment capacity to 10,000m³ to avoid potential overload.

It is expected that, by 2025, the station will have treated wastewater under any circumstance. This is also a strict requirement set by all-level authorities under the ongoing project of building Da Nang into an environmentally-friendly city.
