A man was caught his red-handed illegally possessing narcotics in Da Nang’s Cam Le District on Friday evening.

At about 8:20pm on May 20, Team C2 of the 911 force under the Da Nang Department of Public Security discovered a young man driving a motorbike with the registration plate No.43F1-49952 having suspicious symptoms whilst being on patrol on Pham Hung Street, Cam Le District.

Immediately, the police asked the suspicious subject to stop to undergo administrative inspection.

At that time, Team C2 members found a suspicious plastic bag, containing 5 pink hexagonal tablets and some white crystals, in his jacket pocket.

The arrestee was Nguyen Van Thanh, 34, residing in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.

According to his confession, 5 pink hexagonal tablets were ecstasy drugs, whilst white crystals were drugs Ketamine. He had bought the above drugs, totalling VND5 million, from an unknown person.

After making the initial minutes, Team C2-911 handed over Nguyen Van Thanh to the Drug-related Crime Investigation Team under of the Cam Le District Police for handling according to regulations.
