Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, on Tuesday, made an inspection visit to the site of the project on upgrading and embellishing the 2 September Peace Monument, and renovating and expanding the March 29 Square in Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District.

The Da Nang Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects is the project’s investor and manager.

The project will be carried out during the 2022-2025 period. It is expected to cost VND 212.78 billion which will come from the city budget and social investment capital.

Of this figure, VND 42.6 billion will be used to upgrade and embellish the 2 September Peace Monument, VND 68.7 billion to embellish the landscape surrounding the Monument with an area of ​​69,670m², and VND 101.4 billion to renovate and expand the March 29 Square.

Director of the Management Board of Industrial and Civil Engineering Construction and Investment Projects Nguyen Huu Hinh said that the construction of subdivision 1 items, as part of the upgrading and embellishment of the Monument, was underway. However, the implementation of the work item has been facing problems in technical handling and foundation reinforcement, so his unit is in need of advices from consultants and designers, plus professional opinions from departments and agencies.

During the inspection visit, Secretary Nguyen Van Quang asked the Department of Construction and relevant local units to promote the highest sense of responsibility in finding optimal technical solutions to support the project’s manager and the construction contractor to ensure the project progress.
