During the ceremony, representatives from the Da Nang branch of the Viet Nam Social Security presented 20 social insurance books, worth VND1.8 million each, to poor people. The remaining 100 social insurance books will be handed over to those in need in December 2022.

In his remarks at the event, Director General of Viet Nam Social Security Nguyen The Manh said that social insurance and health insurance are social security policies implemented by the Party and State, not for profit.

The donation of social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances is a practical companion of the Viet Nam Social Security for residents.

He highlighted the importance of the donation programme in promoting the fine cultural traditions of the nation, and calling on joint efforts of officials and employees in the social insurance industry and the whole society to support needy people. This helped to widely spread the spirit of humanity and social insurance and health insurance policies in the community.

Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh praised units, businesses, and sponsors for their joint efforts with the city's social insurance industry and authorities at local level to support the poor, especially when the Tet 2023 is approaching.

He hoped that units, businesses, and sponsors would continue their efforts to join hands with the city in helping more disadvantaged people in the coming time.
