Environmental cleanups to welcome in Lunar New Year 2023
On Sunday, thousands of residents, and members of associations and unions, across Da Nang, went out to clean up the environment to welcome in the Lunar New Year of the Cat.
According to the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the authorities at district, ward and commune levels, and relevant units, will continue to implement environmental cleanups combined with the 'Green, Clean, and Beautiful Sunday' campaign on January 8, 2023.
Environmental sanitation units are asked to collect and transport large-sized waste and construction waste before January 8, 2023. After January 8, 2023, individuals and organisations must bring such waste to the garbage collection points.
Government departments and agencies have to clean up the environment surrounding their offices no later than January 19, 2023 (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month).
Investors and construction units are urged to stop transporting soil, sand and construction materials in the city before January 21, 2023 (the 30th day of the 12th lunar month).
The Da Nang Urban Environment JSC and the city's branch of the Ha Noi Urban Environment One Member Limited Company (URENCO) collect and transport household waste before noon on January 21. If there is any waste generated after this time, households, individuals and organisations must bring it to the garbage collection points or trash bins placed on local streets.
Sanitation units are required to stop all dumping of domestic waste from 7:00pm on January 21, 2023 and complete the environmental sanitation work at wet markets and trade centers before 8:00 pm on the same day.
The two companies will complete the cleanups of main streets and fireworks areas before 2:00 am on January 22. The collection and transportation of waste in the city will be suspended from January 22 to 24.
