According to statistics of the Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in 2022, VND 3,418 billion, excluding funding from international projects, was poured into 88 tasks implemented through the ‘Building Da Nang into Environmentally-friendly city’ project in the 2021 - 2030 period.

The aforementioned figure was released at a workshop to assess the implementation of the ‘Building Da Nang into Environmentally-friendly city’ project in the 2021 - 2030 period in 2022 and identify tasks in 2023.

As reported, in 2022, the whole city has implemented many practical activities to prevent pollution, improve environmental quality, waste management and sorting at source, reduce plastic waste, conserve biodiversity and respond to climate change.

There were more than 100,000 people participating in environmental sanitation activities, sorting waste at source and environmental protection activities.

Also, there are more than 37 environmental protection models built and replicated in the city such as the model of waste battery collection bin, using banana leaves instead of plastic for packaging vegetables, civilsed garbage collection points, eco-friendly groups, zero-waste villages, garbage-free schools, veterans' clubs protecting the environment.

In 2023, relevant local agencies across Da Nang will continue to implement the tasks stated in the ‘Building Da Nang into Environmentally-friendly city’ project in the 2021 - 2030 period, focusing on such key groups of tasks as pollution prevention and control, environmental improvement, nature and biodiversity conservation, rising public awareness of environmental protection and climate change mitigation.
