Da Nang's efforts to ensure urban aesthetics
Da Nang has been widely known as a civilised, green, clean, beautiful and livable city. The city’s current spacious and fresh appearance has been mainly attributed to the great efforts made by many generations of leaders, specialised departments and agencies in the urban management field, and people from all walks of life.

For instance, a number of alleys and small roads across the city have been upgraded and widened in recent years, contributing to creating a spacious and modern look for local streets.
However, besides the outstanding achievements, there still exist a number of problems causing frustration among the people.
For example, sheets of paper advertising multiple services, such as low-cost septic tank pumping services, are rampant in Da Nang, making the tourist city ugly. Power poles, walls, dustbins, and water supply pipes, especially along tourism routes such as Hoang Sa, Pham Van Dong and Nguyen Tat Thanh, become locations for such paper advertisements.
To clamp down on stick-on ads, local authorities clear such ads and impose administrative fines on those who plaster them in public places.
However, there is a need for outstanding solutions to put an end to the illegal act of plastering ads on utility poles, walls, and light poles in a bid to maintain Da Nang a green, clean, beautiful, and civilised city in a sustainable way in the near future.
