Loads of explosively fun activities to be promised in Da Nang during upcoming national holidays

As the Hung Kings' festival coincides with Reunification Day and International Workers' Day, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers nationwide will enjoy a rare five-day holiday from April 29 - May 3.

Therefore, Da Nang plans to organise many new and impressive cultural and artistic activities in a bid to satisfy the entertainment needs of both local residents and visitors during the forthcoming public holidays.

Refreshing tourism activities

One of the highlights of this year’s public holidays of April 30 and May 1 will be a series of activities in the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season programme 2023 which are expected to take place from April 28 to May 3 at the East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula and beaches of My An, My Khe, T18 and Nguyen Tat Thanh.

Included will be beach art models (April 28 - May 3), a series of activities at the My An Beach, an art kite festival (April 28 and 29), a food festival (April 28 - May 3), a sand sculpture contest (April 29), a series of activities to open the Son Tra Inland Wharf (April 28), and the Da Nang Colour Race 2023 (April 28 and 29).

Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches Nguyen Duc Vu said that, up to now, every preparation has been readied to offer visitors from near and far a great experience when visiting Da Nang on this occasion.

In particular, the management board has focused on ensuring safety of beach-goers, guaranteeing food safety and hygiene, and asking food, drink and tourism service providers to list prices of goods and services and sell them at the displayed prices.

Held from April 25 - May 1, the first-ever ‘Hoa Bac Tourism Week 2023’ programme promises a wide array of arts, cultural, sports and tourism activities, such as paragliding performances, a rural market, a cuisine festival, a traditional boat racing festival, a painting exhibition, and music programmes.

Mr. Do Thanh Tan, Head of Culture and Information Office of Hoa Vang District, said the purpose of the ‘Hoa Bac Tourism Week’ is to introduce visitors to resources, potentials, advantages, and unique tourism products of Hoa Bac Commune in particular and Hoa Vang in general.

Meanwhile, the Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area has launched many new products for visitors.

In particular, the first-ever Happy Songkran Festival is taking place from April 10 - May 4 with unique culinary and cultural experiences. Festival goers will be warmly welcomed with a sunny smile, and sweet and gracious greetings, as well as will have a chance to immerse themselves in the water splashing battle and enjoy the delicious Thai dishes.

Besides, the South Korean Culture Festival will be slated in May and June.

Similarly, during the upcoming public holiday, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park will organise the ‘Quang Da Folk Culture Festival’ programme from April 29 - May 2 at the Huyen Long Ho area, promising to bring visitors special impressions and experience.

Visitors to the hot spring park on the occasion will have the opportunity to participate and enjoy folk culture activities such as ‘Bai Choi’ (singing while acting as playing cards) and lion dance performances, 'to he' traditional craft, a magic balloon art show, and ‘nhay sap’ (dancing with bamboo poles) with the Co Tu ethnic minority group.

Fascinating events to be held along both banks of Han River

Both banks of the city’s iconic Han River will host an array of exciting events during the upcoming national holidays.

Notably, a series of arts programmes will be organised along the both banks of the river on the evening of April 28, including the ‘Aspirations for Hoa Bac’ art programme in the namesake commune in Hoa Vang District, a program to introduce the MV ‘Great Son Tra’ to promote the images of Son Tra District at the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, a flashmod programme themed ‘Weekend rendezvous’ at the semicircle of Bach Dang Street, and a music programme entitled ‘Proud Melodies’.

Additionally, there will be a circus programme at the Trung Vuong Theatre from April 28 - May 2.

For the first time, local police officers will participate in a parade along Bach Dang Street at 8:00pm on April 29.

Accordingly, the artists and police officers of the troupe will perform 17 works during the parade and 6 works on the spot. On this occasion, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy many famous works praising the homeland, the Party, Uncle Ho and the People's Public Security force.

Also on the same day, an art programme entitled ‘The return of April’ will be organised at the APEC Sculpture Garden by the Trung Vuong Theatre and the Hai Chau District Culture and Sports Centre.

With 17 special performances, the event aims to honour and pay tribute to revolution contributors, as well as widely spread the revolutionary historical tradition of the nation to both locals and tourists, Director of the Trung Vuong Theatre Tran Van Hao emphasised.
