In a press release on October 25, the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said PM Hun Sen will participate in and deliver addresses at those events, held from October 26 to 28 via video conference.
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn said on October 24 that as Cambodia will take over the ASEAN chairmanship in 2022, the country is committed to boosting unity and solidarity to address complex challenges faced by the bloc.
He noted Cambodia hopes that with the solidarity between ASEAN members and the support by external partners, it will be able to enhance and advance the ASEAN Community building process, strengthen ASEAN’s centrality, preserve its important role in global trade, investment and supply chain through the timely implementation of the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework (ACRF) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), among others.
The official also stressed Cambodia’s endeavour to support the efforts and contributions by the international community in addressing issues related to climate change, terrorism and transnational crimes, and continue contributing troops to UN peacekeeping missions.
