Yesterday in Ha Noi, leaders from the Da Nang People’s Committee and Singapore's Sembcorp Development Company together entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the deployment of a 15ha software park project near Da Nang’s Thuan Phuoc Bridge.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his counterpart from Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.

The strategic project will play a vital role in promoting the development of information and communications technology (ICT) into one of the city’s spearhead economic sectors.  This will match the city’s development orientation for furthering hi-tech industries and high-quality services, and help the city become a smarter city by 2020.

Currently, the focus is on conducting a pre-feasibility study of the project.  The construction of the first stage, on an area of 5.3ha, will begin in November this year, and is expected to be completed in 2019.
