Under the plans, the 4 existing sightseeing boat tours will be maintained.  All of them depart from the Han River.  They are: Tran Thi Ly Bridge - Thuan Phuoc Bridge; Thuan Phuoc Bridge - the mouth of the Han River - Son Tra Peninsula; Thuan Phuoc Bridge - Ngoc (Ruby) Island (Hon Chao); and Thuan Phuoc Bridge - Quang Nam Province’s Cu Lao Cham (Cham Islands).

Some new routes will be opened next year, including: Han River - the historical relic site K20 - the Marble Mountains Tourism Area in Ngu Hanh Son District; and Han River - Cam Le District - Tuy Loan River - Thai Lai Village in Hoa Vang District.

By 1 January 2018, the trip boats currently operating on the Han River will be required to be equipped with an automatic identification system (AIS), which is an automatic tracking system used for identifying and locating vessels by electronically exchanging data with other nearby ships, AIS base stations, and satellites.

Also, the boats will have to be equipped with lightning conductors and emergency lighting systems, plus waste water collection and separation equipment.
