Currently, there are over 21,500 businesses operating in Da Nang, and they have made great contributions to the city’s growth over recent years.

Since the start of this year, the total of taxes collected in the city hit over 12,000 billion VND.  In 2016, this figure was 15,530 billion VND, up 127.4% compared with the previous year.

According to the municipal Taxation Department, as of 31 July, 97.4 % and 99.72% of the total local businesses had used the e-tax declaration and payment services respectively.

In the past, local business people had to spend a lot of time doing their tax declarations at the end of each month.  Now, they can implement these procedures at any time, at their company instead of at the local tax offices, and their money is safely transferred via local commercial banks.  This has helped local businesses to save time and expense.

At a meeting on Wednesday to review the city’s taxation collection activities, municipal People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien remarked that the local taxation sector always stands side by side with the business community.

He underscored the need for the tax sector to further simplify and shorten the time for taxation procedures for locals and businesses.  Special heed should be also paid to assisting taxpayers to fulfil their tax obligations, and facilitating local businesses to expand their production and trading activities.

Also at the meeting, 10 local businesses were honoured with Certificates of Merit from the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the city budge last year.

Also, 31 organisations and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the municipal PC, whilst 22 others received ones from the General Department of Taxation.  In a similar vein, the municipal Taxation Department offered the same certificates to 135 organisations, 12 family-owned manufacturing establishments, and 4 individuals.
