Hai Van Tunnel's operator pays off over 2.6 billion VND power debt

The latest information provided by the Lien Chieu District branch of the Da Nang Power Company indicated that the Hai Van Tunnel Management and Operation JSC (HAMADECO), the operator of the 6.28km-long tunnel, has paid off its 2.6 billion VND (over 111.445US$) debt for the use of power in September and October.

Previously, the power supplier had asked for payment three times but HAMADECO delayed paying.

Nevertheless, the power firm has no intention of cutting its power supply to the tunnels because the tunnel plays a key role in the country’s traffic infrastructure from the north to the south with its important position on the National Highway 1A.
