In particular, the Dien Bien Phu Street-located Co-op Mart supermarket has stockpiled around 4,000 tonnes of food and consumer goods totalling over 80 billion VND, a rise of 10% against the same period last year, in order to supply local residents over the upcoming festival.

Best-selling products are expected to be fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and pork, Tet specialities, and beverages.

Mr Phan Thong, the supermarket’s Director, remarked, from now until the Tet festival, his supermarket will continue to supplement more Tet goods in a bid to meet the increasing demand of local residents.

“My unit plans to extend its opening hours and increase the number of employees in order to provide better services for our customers”, he added.

The BigC Mall is seeing a 20% increase in the consumption of Tet goods against the same period last year. Its best-sellers include different types of beer and wine, candies, cakes, fashionable clothes, and household appliances.

According to a spokesperson for the Vingroup, there are a total of 95 Vinmart+ convenience stores across the city, and these stores have already made plans to stockpile Tet goods in order to ensure sufficient supplies of safe, high-quality goods for local shoppers.

In addition to fresh food and fruits, many types of Tet flowers and imported confectionery products will be displayed for sale at these stores.

In order to offer a wide range of Tet goods to shoppers, Big C Mall representatives have to negotiate with food suppliers to ensure sufficient supplies of essential Tet goods at reasonable prices.
