City sees 22% drop in number of newly-established firms in first quarter
The latest figures released by the Da Nang Department of Planning and Investment show that the municipal authorities granted business registration certificates to a total of 1,100 new domestic and foreign businesses, branches and representative offices, with a total registered charter capital of over 6 trillion VND in the first quarter of the year.
Between January and March, the city saw a 22% decline in the number of newly-established firms and a 10% drop in total registered investment capital against the same period last year.
The average registered capital of each newly-established firm hit 5.47 billion VND. Most notably, the city witnessed a dramatic decrease in the number of the newly-established enterprises involved in such aspects as trade, services, construction, and real estate, during the 3 - month period.
Also, in the first three months of 2020, 219 businesses were dissolved, whilst 827 had their business activities temporarily suspended.
Currently, 30,570 businesses, branches and representative offices are now operating in the city with the total registered investment capital of 210,377 billion VND.
