Da Nang on track to ensure safe and flexible adaptation to COVID-19
In his closing remarks at a meeting with representatives of FDI enterprises on Friday afternoon within the framework of the ‘Business Dialogue’, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang highly appreciated the support and cooperation made by foreign investors in the city’s COVID-19 combat and their effective implementation of the ‘3-on- the- spot’ (on-site production, on-site dining, on-site resting ) approach.

Secretary Quang underlined a must-do to safely and flexibly adapt to any developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be affirmed that the ongoing coronavirus wave in Da Nang has been brought under control till date. However, strong measures aimed at to curb the virus spread have also imposed a significant impact on people's lives and businesses, including FDI ones, such as affecting their order fulfillment schedules and resulting in delays.
“The municipal administration is fully aware of what difficulties and losses FDI enterprises are encountering. Each COVID-19 preventive measure has always been taken into account with the aim of minimising any losses to the businesses. Amid COVID-19 resurgence, protecting the people's health should be given more priority”, affirmed the city’s top leader.
The ‘3-on- the- spot’ model conducted by such FDI enterprises as Universal Alloy Corporation Viet Nam Co., Ltd. and Daiwa Viet Nam Co., Ltd. have set a bright example for other domestically-invested ones to follow.
In reality, the ‘3-on- the- spot’ model has caused a significant financial burden for the businesses. The municipal administration will, therefore, soon re-open basic activities so that the businesses can operate in the most favourable conditions possible. For the time being, resumption plans are being mapped put in a very careful manner.
Besides, functional local agencies will more effectively promote the application of information and communication technology as well as multi-platforms and multi-language tech app in such foreign languages as English, Korean and Japanese for FDI enterprises to easily access.
Also at the ‘Business Dialogue’ with FDI enterprises, Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee were awarded to 2 FDI enterprises in recognition for their outstanding contribution to the municipal budget in 2020, namely Heineken Viet Nam Brewery Co., Ltd. and TCIE Viet Nam Co., Ltd.
Meanwhile, 7 other FDI enterprises were also awarded Certificates of Merit for excellent achievements in COVID-19 prevention and control whilst maintaining the efficiency of production and business activities. They were Daiwa Viet Nam Co., Ltd., Mabuchi Viet Nam Co., Ltd., Crown Beverage Cans Da Nang Co., Ltd., the Da Nang branch of Murata Manufacturing Viet Nam Co., Ltd, Universal Alloy Corporation Viet Nam Co., Ltd., the Da Nang branch of Chin Huei Plastic Industrial JSC and Hoso Viet Nam Co., Ltd.
