CAAV proposed plan for domestic flight operations from Oct. 20
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) is seeking permission from the Ministry of Transport for domestic flight operation plan from October 20 after the end of the pilot period of domestic flight resumption from October10 to 20.
The plan will see six round-trip flights a day from October 21 to November 30 on the Ha Noi-Da Nang, Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), and Da Nang-HCMC routes.
In detail, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air will be permitted to operate two flights on each of its three above-mentioned routes a day while one flight only operated by Bamboo Airways and Pacific Airlines on each will be available to passengers daily.
Domestic airlines will be allowed to resume their routes with a flight frequency not exceeding 10% of the average seen in the first week of April prior to the fourth COVID-19 wave hit the country.
Other air routes will not be allowed to exceed one round-trip flight a day for each airline.
Further adjustments will be made to domestic flight operations after 15 days of implementation of the CAAV proposed plan.
If the COVID-19 outbreak is brought under control in affected localities nationwide in December 2021, domestic airlines will be able to resume normal operations.
Passengers on domestic flights departing from the Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCMC are required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before departure.
For other flights departing from other localities, passengers are required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before departure or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 within the past 6 months, or COVID-19 vaccination.
