Construction of access channels to fishing wharf in Da Nang to start in first quarter
The Maritime Project Management Board said it is selecting contractors for consulting bidding packages and preparatory works for the construction of access channels to the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf in Son Tra District, Da Nang.
Accordingly, the project on building access channels to the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf is expected to be carried out in the first quarter of 2023 and completed in 2023.
As part of the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period approved by the Ministry of Transport, the project is likely to cost more than VND150.5 billion funded by the State budget. The Maritime Project Management Board is the project’s investor.
The project aims to serve the exploitation needs of the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and on-built shipyard ports, receive cargo ships of up to 10,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT), and improve the general service capacity for the whole Da Nang channel.
Specifically, the length of the channel is about 2,927m, including 2 sections. In which, the section from buoy No. 1 to the end of the turning basin of Son Tra Port is 1,577m long, whilst the section from the turning basin of Son Tra Port to the Song Thu Shipyard is 1,350m long.
Once completed, the access channel will be capable of receiving general and bulk ships of up to 10,000 DWT at full load, 3,000 DWT cargo ships and 4,100 DWT new-build ships, as well as meet maritime safety conditions.
