Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, made the affirmation at the announcement ceremony of the Da Nang Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, held in the city on Saturday.

According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Da Nang announced its Master Plan at a historic time when Viet Nam was chosen as the destination and fulcrum for the semiconductor industry. This is the time when ‘Made-in-Viet Nam’ small chips have the ability to significantly contribute to the future of the country.

“Da Nang has great potential to become a ‘Silicon Valley’ of Viet Nam, especially when it is naturally blessed with rivers, mountains and sea with very beautiful and attractive natural landscape. Also, the coastal city is becoming an inviting destination for many famous people around the world to visit and work. The number of students accounts for 10% of the city’s population. Currently, Intel, Synopsys and many major information technology and semiconductor companies in the world have presented in the city” Mr. Binh emphasised.

Recently, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang has met with many organisations and businesses in the US, opening up the opportunity for the city to be a new destination for the world’s semiconductor industry.

Mr. Binh said, FPT currently trains 17,500 students and also announces the opening of a new faculty dedicated to semiconductors. FPT has met with the world's leading semiconductor chip companies to discuss human resources plans in order to serve not only Viet Nam but also the US, Japan, Taiwan (China) and other countries.

In the coming time, FPT will actively and proactively cooperate with Da Nang in training high-quality human resources for the local semiconductor industry and building the city to become a Silicon Valley of the country.
