Published: April 16, 2016

The death anniversary of the Hung Kings and the Hung Kings’ Temple Festival is taking place at Viet Tri City in Phu Tho Province until 16 April.

Co-organised by Hung Yen, Binh Thuan and Ca Mau provinces, the 5-day event features numerous solemn rituals, along with various exciting cultural and sporting activities.

An incense offering ceremony in commemoration of the Hung Kings will be held tomorrow morning (16 April).  It will be followed by rituals to commemorate the death anniversary of the nation’s Great Father Lac Long Quan, and to offer incense in tribute to Great Mother Au Co.  There will also be a procession to the Hung Kings’ Temple to celebrate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings.

In Da Nang, various solemn traditional rituals will be held tomorrow at the Hai Chau, Trung Nghia, Hoa An, Da Son, An Khe, and Thac Gian village communal houses.  They will include ceremonies to offer incense for national heroes and ancestors.  These activities will help to educate the younger generations about the national ethic ‘remember the source while drinking the water’.
