Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) won the national children’s football tournament for the Fami Kid Cup after defeating Gia Bao Hai Duong 3-0 in the final in Da Nang yesterday.

SLNA scored 17 goals in the qualifying round and won 3-0 in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

SHB Da Nang and Phu Yen shared third place.

The event’s organising board gave their favourite team award to SHB Da Nang, while SLNA’s players won all the individual awards, including top scorer, best player and best goalkeeper.

The event’s qualifying round ran in June in four provinces, namely Yen Bai, Thanh Hoa, Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc. After that the 16 best teams took part in the finals from 10 - 18 August.

The event, for children aged 10-11, is organised by the Nhi Dong (Children) Newspaper and the Viet Nam Football Federation.
