Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son, on Thursday morning, chaired meetings to review the recently-concluded Asian Routes Development Forum (Routes Asia) 2022 and discuss the preparatory works for the Asian development golf tournament in Da Nang and the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022.

According to the report delivered at the meeting, Routes Asia 2022 attracted more than 700 delegates, including 500 foreigners. Amongst the international delegates, 400 came from Asia, whilst the rest were from the Americas, Europe and Middle East countries.

Routes Asia 2022 featured a total 18 major and side activities and events. The Informa Routes Company, the organizer of the Routes Asia, hosted three main activities, whilst Da Nang organised 15 activities.

There were a total of 1,500 meetings and working sessions between airlines, airports and tourism authorities from across the Asia Pacific region from June 6 - 8. 1,300 of them were held in offline form, whilst the remainder were in form of online.

The Asian tourism and aviation exhibition, organised at the Da Nang Exhibition and Convention Centre, featured 43 pavilions different countries, in which, Da Nang's pavilion was the largest.

Vice Chairman Son remarked that Routes Asia was the first of its kind in Viet Nam and it was an honour for Da Nang to be the host city.

He added that, overall, the event was quite successful, so he stressed the need for relevant units to take advantage of the Routes Asia database to promote the city’s tourism images to international friends in the near future.

Mr. Son also underlined the necessity for local departments and agencies to well prepare for infrastructure, human resources, tourism products, and culinary services in order to serve potential tourist markets such as Middle Eastern countries, along with for M.I.C.E tourism products for the high-end customer markets.

During the meeting on the preparations for the Asian development golf tournament in Da Nang and the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022, the municipal Department of Tourism informed that the Asian development golf tournament, called the Danang Fantatiscity Championship presented by BRG Group, is expected to be held in Da Nang from August 30 - September 2.

Hosted by the Asian Tour, the tournament is expected to see the participation of 144 professional golfers. The coordinating units consist of the municipal Department of Tourism, the local Department of Culture and Sports, the Viet Nam Golf Association, and the Da Nang Golf Association.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022 is slated to take place from August 28 - September 2. It will feature 9 related activities, including press conferences, seminars, golf experiences, city tours, and a food promotion programme.
